Ajou University Hospital, Varian Korea sign radiation therapy research partnership

Collaboration includes clinical data sharing and reference sites.

Ajou University Hospital has partnered with Varian Medical Systems Korea, the cancer treatment business unit of Siemens Healthineers, to collaborate on clinical research and technological innovation in radiation therapy.

The agreement, signed on 9 July, covers joint clinical research, evaluation of advanced radiation therapy technologies and equipment, analysis and sharing of clinical outcomes, operation of reference sites, and domestic and international academic exchanges.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ajou University Hospital President Jo Jae-ho, Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology Noh Oh-kyu, and faculty members, alongside Varian Medical Systems Regional Director for Asia-Pacific and Japan Hideaki Mori and Korea Regional Director Hee-cheol Han.

"Through this agreement, we will expand clinical research and educational cooperation on advanced radiation therapy technology, and continuously enhance the expertise and treatment capabilities of our medical staff to provide safer and more effective treatment to patients,” said Jae-ho said/

Han added that the partnership marks an important step in advancing cancer treatment through joint innovation. “I consider it very meaningful to be able to create innovation in the field of cancer treatment together through cooperation with Ajou University Hospital.”
