Ajou University Hospital widens digital access to medical record services
The hospital added online CD requests, PDF downloads, and offline payment integration.
Ajou University Hospital has upgraded its medical record issuance system, adding several digital features to reduce the need for in-person visits.
The hospital introduced three new features to its existing online system: the online application for medical image CDs, downloading medical records as PDFs without visiting in person, and linking online applications with offline payment options.
Patients can now request and receive records remotely.
The changes are part of a broader digitisation effort launched in November 2023 and carried out between August 2025 and February 2026.
Medical records are now available immediately in PDF format, with access via mobile devices. Files can also be emailed to third parties such as insurance companies.
The process for obtaining medical images has also been revised.
Patients can request copies of image CDs online at any time and choose either in-person pickup or delivery by mail.
Payment can still be completed on-site after an online request.
For data protection, the hospital uses identity verification tied to mobile phones registered in the user’s name.
Access is restricted, and related data is deleted after records are printed or downloaded.
The system processes records in real time on a one-time basis rather than storing them externally.
“Going forward, we will gradually build an environment where medical images can also be immediately viewed and utilised online," said Jo Jae-ho, hospital director of Ajou University Hospital.
