Changi General Hospital’s top boss is SingHealth’s new Group CEO in 2024

The new posts will take effect in February 2024.

Professor Ng Wai Hoe will take the helm of SingHealth on 1 February 2024, replacing Professor Ivy Ng. On 1 August 2023, Wai Hoe is Group CEO Designate.

The healthcare institution said Wai Hoe is currently the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth, and CEO, of Changi General Hospital (CGH). 

Wai Hoe will also subsequently be as Group Chief Executive Officer, SingHealth, on 1 February 2024. On the same date, he will relinquish his appointments as DGCEO (S&P), SingHealth, and CEO, CGH.

He is a neurosurgeon who conducted “world-class research programmes in Parkinson’s Disease and Neuro-oncology and developed, through strategic partnerships, research in areas such as brain-computer interface, artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies at the National Neuroscience Institute where he was Medical Director.”

Under his helm, CGH also became one of Singapore’s Best Employers and as a leader in healthcare innovation and in pushing the frontiers of regional and community care.

Wai Hoe has also strategically positioned CGH as a key medical partner across the aviation and correctional, and rehabilitation industries that will promote care for youths and seniors, especially those who are vulnerable.

Clinical Associate Professor Ng Kee Chong will be taking Wai Hoe’s post at CGH. He will take the new post on on 1 February 2024 but on 1 August 2023, he is CGH CEO designate. Ng Kee Chong is currently Deputy Group Chairman Medical Board (Disease Outbreak and Preparedness) [DGCMB (DO&P)], SingHealth. He will continue in his role as DGCMB (DO&P).
