This startup’s clinic software is the first to be fully compatible with HealthierSG

Galen Health is one of the vendors that joined HealthierSG’s SmartCMS Programme.

Local healthcare technology start-up, Galen Health, said it is the first clinic management system (CMS) to have the eligibility to be compatible with HealthierSG, Singapore’s healthcare reform that will be launched in the second half of 2023.

Galen Health was able to be compatible after it joined the SmartCMS Programme, which helps over 17 CMS vendors to enhance their software using the public healthcare system.

Under the SmartCMS Programme, “vendors are required to fulfill key requirements of integration with HSG web services, National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) system, Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) bundle, key MOH clinical programmes (such as National Immunisation Registry), and compliance with the Code of Practice on CMS data portability and attainment of the Cyber Essential mark for cybersecurity.”

“By achieving this high level of integration with all the key public healthcare systems, Galen will be able to enhance work efficiency for healthcare providers, minimise unnecessary administrative burdens and allow clinical staff to better focus on patient Engagement,” read the company statement.

The high cyber security standard is critical to make sure that there is the fidelity of patient records and promote patient safety, read the statement.

Data portability will also ensure that healthcare providers can seamlessly switch between CMS vendors without compromising patient care, it added.

So far, Galen Health recorded over 150 installations in primary care clinics, specialists, dental, and allied health practices.
