NHCS performs intravascular lithotripsy with LithiX device

The device uses hertz contact stress energy to break down calcium deposits.

The National Heart Centre Singapore has performed an intravascular lithotripsy procedure using the LithiX Hertz Contact IVL device developed by Elixir Medical Corporation.

The device uses hertz contact stress energy to break down calcium deposits at low pressure, eliminating the need for an external power source.

Moreover, the procedure targets patients with moderate to severe coronary calcification.

The centre has since carried out eight procedures using the LithiX device.
