NHCS’s new graduate programme trains cardiac interventional nurses
The curriculum leverages the centre’s Cardiac Cath Lab.
The National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) has introduced a specialised, graduate certificate programme in Cardiac Interventional Radiology Nursing.
The 4.5-month curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical training in the centre’s cardiac catheterisation laboratory (Cardiac Cath Lab).
It comprises three key components: theoretical learning with simulated practice, supervised clinical attachment at NHCS’s Cardiac Cath Lab, and institution-based practical training.
Cardiovascular disease remains the country’s leading cause of death, claiming nearly one-third of lives in Singapore.
