Vietnam’s FV Hospital adopts AI-driven tech for early myopia risk detection
The machine can predict the condition’s progression for children until the age of 18.
Vietnam’s FV Hospital has announced the introduction of an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven machine for early detection of myopia risk for children.
The Myopia Master Measurements allow the hospital to predict and analyse myopia progression in each child until the age of 18, enabling doctors to provide tailored control protocols and monitor results at each follow-up appointment.
Moreover, the machine can detect individuals at high risk or in the pre-myopia stage, and predict when they will develop the condition.
“Young children often do not realise the decline in visual acuity, so parents should proactively take their children for vision screenings from an early age, starting at 3 to 4 years old,” Nguyen Thi Mai, Head of the Ophthalmology & Refractive Surgery at FV Hospital, said.
“Early detection and intervention can help protect and improve children’s vision, as well as prevent more serious eye problems that may develop later,” Nguyen added.
