SNEC, SERI, Stanford University ink three-year ophthalmology partnership
The agreement includes internships and fellowship opportunities at Stanford.
The Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) have signed a three-year agreement with the US’s Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University to advance education, clinical care, and research in ophthalmology.
Under the agreement, top trainees and junior faculty from SNEC and SERI will have access to ophthalmic internships and fellowships at Stanford.
The partnership will also focus on leveraging strengths in artificial intelligence and digital programmes, including expanding retinal image datasets from diverse populations.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Aung Tin, CEO of SNEC, Jodhbir Mehta, Executive Director of SERI, and Jeffrey Goldberg, Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford’s Byers Eye Institute.
