Nearly half of APAC healthcare firms adopt carbon-neutral strategies
Majority prioritise reducing the environmental impact and CO2 emissions.
Nearly half (46%) of Asia Pacific (APAC) healthcare organisations have implemented strategies to achieve carbon-neutral certification, with 40% planning to follow suit within three years, according to a Philips report.
Almost all (99%) of APAC healthcare leaders prioritise reducing the environmental impact and CO2 emissions, compared to 86% globally.
About 45% are setting targets for decarbonisation and tracking emissions, outpacing the global average of 31%.
Meanwhile, there is also a trend towards sustainable procurement, with 49% of organisations implementing practices like circular equipment use, and 43% planning to do so. Additionally, 46% are prioritising suppliers with sustainability targets.
Energy efficiency and virtual care remain central to operational goals, with 42% reducing energy consumption and 41% planning to expand virtual care solutions to cut emissions in the next three years.
