HA completes construction of support services centre

It aims to enhance patient support services in public hospitals.

The Hospital Authority (HA) has completed construction of the Hospital Authority Support Services Centre (HASSC), and operation has commenced in phases.

The centre aims to enhance patient support services in public hospitals and strengthen their capability to handle emergencies.

“The HASSC will centrally coordinate patient supporting services of HA hospitals, such as patient catering and laundry service for patient linens,” Director of Cluster Services of the HA Simon Tang said.

He also added that the centre adopts automated systems and robotics technology to reduce operational and logistics costs, as well as improve operational efficiency.

The HASSC covers an area of 62,000 square metres and includes a central laundry, food, and corporate data centre. It is expected to increase its service capacity by 2030.
