China's intraocular lens market to see 2% CAGR until 2033
Its expansion is attributed to the rising prevalence of myopia.
China’s intraocular lens market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 2% until 2033 amidst the rising prevalence of myopia, according to GlobalData.
The country accounted for approximately 25% of the Asia Pacific intraocular lens market in 2024.
“As myopia rates continue to climb, particularly amongst patients with high refractive errors, the limitations of traditional corrective methods become increasingly evident,” said GlobalData’s medical devices analyst, Kanchan Chauhan.
Meanwhile, more patients are taking a more active role in their treatment decisions, underscoring the potential for new, consumer-focused approaches.
“There is a critical need for effective options that provide lasting improvements in visual clarity and stability, particularly for individuals with high myopia,” Chauhan added.
