Gov't announces plans to upgrade two Western Australia hospitals

Its request for proposal is open for a single contractor for renovation works.

Early contractor involvement requests for proposals have been opened for a single contractor for renovation works at the Meekatharra Hospital and Albany Health Campus.

This is part of the Cook government's AUS$4.7b ($3.96b) investment in health infrastructure, the Western Australia government said.

The proposal seeks a modular-building approach that allows early works to begin whilst final designs are completed for both health facilities.

The project aims to create standardised modular designs to accelerate future health infrastructure projects, particularly in rural and remote Western Australia.

The Meekatharra Hospital redevelopment will include upgraded emergency services, modern inpatient facilities, patient support areas, and upgraded ICT systems to support hospital logistics.

Albany Health Campus plans a capacity uplift with a new 32-bed modular ward.

Requests for proposals close on 18 December 2025.
