Viatris in Vietnam wins Healthcare Asia Pharma Award for cardiovascular care initiative

The initiative marks Atorvastatin’s 25th anniversary by driving nationwide cardiovascular impact.

Viatris in Vietnam Ltd Company won the Initiative Award for Public-Private Partnership - Vietnam at the Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2026 for its Smart Life Cycle Moves campaign, an integrated public-private effort that brings together healthcare professionals, communities, and partners to address the growing burden of cardiovascular disease in Vietnam.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality in the country, highlighting the urgent need for stronger prevention, earlier detection, and more proactive management. Against this backdrop, the campaign leveraged Atorvastatin’s 25-year presence in Vietnam to drive meaningful engagement across the healthcare ecosystem.

A core pillar of the programme was scientific engagement. Viatris in Vietnam Ltd Company organised a series of nationwide symposia that brought doctors and pharmacists across hospital and retail pharmacy channels to discuss developments in cardiovascular management. These sessions provided updates on lipid management and patient care, whilst reinforcing the role of cardiovascular prevention in routine clinical practice. The participation of leading cardiovascular experts further strengthened scientific exchange and supported the adoption of evidence-based approaches.

The programme also incorporated localised digital tools developed in collaboration with the Vietnam Heart Association, including SCORE_VN and SCORE_VNDM2, to support cardiovascular risk assessment in clinical practice. These tools complement the broader effort by enabling earlier detection and facilitating more informed discussions between healthcare professionals and patients.

Community engagement formed another key pillar of the programme. Activities such as the “25 Years Advancing Vietnam CV Care” run encouraged individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles and take proactive steps toward long-term cardiovascular health, helping translate awareness into practical action at the community level.

The programme recorded strong engagement across the healthcare ecosystem, reaching more than 4,000 doctors and 5,310 pharmacists nationwide, with the involvement of over 80 leading experts. Public education efforts further expanded awareness of lipid management and cardiovascular prevention.

Digital adoption also grew, with SCORE_VN and SCORE_VNDM2 reaching over 106,000 users and generating 915,000 visits, providing healthcare professionals with practical tools to guide discussions with patients and support early diagnosis.

The initiative contributed to improved patient access to treatment, supporting a 27% increase in patient access to therapy through sustained engagement with healthcare providers and communities.
