Femto Research Group Co., Ltd.’s p53DIICBiome innovation lauded at Healthcare Asia Awards 2025

The company’s p53DIICBiome innovation allows early detection for those at risk of cancer-related complications.

Femto Research Group Co., Ltd. has been awarded Service Innovation of the Year - Thailand at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2025 for its pioneering work in cancer detection and COVID-19-related genomic research.

Emerging research indicates that cancer patients are three times more vulnerable to severe COVID-19 outcomes, as immune systems are already immunocompromised. Moreover, recent findings have revealed that the SARS-CoV-2 virus may integrate into human genomes, potentially leading to new cancer developments or worsening existing conditions.

Femto Research Group has been at the forefront of this discovery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s researchers found viral genome integrations in 23% of tested patients.

At the heart of Femto Research Group’s success is its p53Microbiome and p53DIICBiome technologies, which have won the Healthcare Asia Service Innovation Award for seven consecutive years from 2018 to 2024.

These innovations utilise DNA extracted from dried saliva, collected non-invasively on a cotton pad at home and shipped to Femto Lab for analysis. This method allows for early detection of cancer-related genome infections, providing an accessible and convenient solution for at-risk individuals.

With the p53DIICBiome 2025 innovation, patients with SARS-CoV-2 viral integrations can be identified before symptoms appear. This will enable healthcare providers to manage, mitigate, or prevent serious cancer-related complications. Meanwhile, those already diagnosed with cancer can receive more personalised treatment plans based on their genomic profile.

By understanding viral genome integrations, doctors can also better anticipate recurrence, complications, and disease progression.

As it continues to develop groundbreaking solutions, Femto Research Group Co., Ltd. is shaping the future of cancer diagnostics, patient care, and medical innovation.

The Healthcare Asia Awards honours exceptional hospitals across the region that have redefined the standards of excellence in the industry through their innovative solutions and substantial contributions to communities.
