Apollo and SAIL launch multi-speciality healthcare in Rourkela, India

The state-of-the-art health facility has 290 beds.

Apollo Hospitals Group and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) established a 290-bed multi-speciality hospital in Rourkela, India, which will benefit over 70 Lakh people in the Western Odisha region.

In a joint statement, Apollo and SAIL said Apollo Rourkela will offer multiple super speciality disciplines such as Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Advanced Orthopaedics, Oncology and Urology, Nephrology Critical Care, and more.

“With an aim to improve the healthcare landscape for the large, underserved people of the state, Apollo Rourkela managed IPGISSH (Ispat Post Graduate Institute & Superspecialty Hospital) is focused on bringing quality & affordable healthcare under this Public Private Partnership model,” read the statement.

The hospital is equipped with 25 full-time clinical experts, backed by general-duty physicians and skilled nursing staff.

It has seven operation theatres, 80 critical care beds, and state-of-the-art modern facilities provided by SAIL and further augmented by the Apollo Hospital group.

Apollo Rourkela also has plans to begin postgraduate teaching courses under the National Board of Examinations across departments and will serve as the first nurturing ground for superspecialists in Western Odisha. This will also help upskill paramedical staff and nurses will also be undertaken in the near future.
