JD Health launches free COVID-19 teleconsultation in Chinese villages

The teleconsultation service is available 24/7.

JD Health, China-based JD.com’s online health platform, has launched an anti-COVID health support project for Chinese towns and villages, offering anti-fever medications and online medical consultations, the e-commerce giant said in a press release.

Under this project, JD Health will open 24/7 free online consultation services on COVID-related inquiries to all rural residents across the country during the CNY holiday period, seeking to alleviate the strain on local medical resources, the company said.

The project also prepared 10 million tablets of antipyretics for emergency response and promised to give 500 tablets to each participating village.

The charity project was initiated two weeks ahead of the Chinese New Year (CNY), when healthcare infrastructure in rural areas is expected to face pressures as hundreds of millions of Chinese people will go back to their hometowns for family reunions, JD said.
