It is blazing trails by spearheading a professional and cultural towards perfecting its patient care through expansion and recognition.

Serving 1.0 million patients and conducting 65,000 surgical interventions annually, Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital (IIEI&H) is Bangladesh’s largest referral tertiary eye hospital that has garnered international quality standards. Besides earning international acclaim for its commendable services, the hospital also won the Hospital of the Year Award for Bangladesh in the recently concluded Healthcare Asia Awards 2019.

Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital is blazing trails by spearheading a professional and cultural towards perfecting its patient care through expansion and recognition.

In last 3 years, the hospital grew from 4 to 21 hospitals, with its tertiary hospital acknowledged as a national advanced referral center. The awardee has achieved revenue growth to the factor 2 with substantial surplus for further aggressive organic sustainable growth.

Besides receiving nationwide acclaim, the hospital is also receiving international Quality Accreditation by the third quarter of 2019. IIEI&H has also bagged numerous international accolades for clinical excellence and patient safety. IIEI&H is moving to paperless services to become a green hospital. Staff strength has also grown from 750 to 1150, including 125 full-time doctors and surgeons who are offering their exceptional services from cataract surgeries to complex ocular oncology. IIIEI&H houses modern medical facilities that match international standards.

Since its humble beginnings in 1960, it has stayed true to its mandate to operate as a ‘not for profit’ hospital. Apart from providing exceptional services, it also serves community eye healthcare across the country with a mission to provide accessible, high quality ophthalmic care to the underprivileged.

IIEI&H is also engaged with medical education for Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, and other Para-medical personnel. The institute has been developing professional ophthalmic manpower not only for Bangladesh but other developing countries as well. By 2020, the institute aims to become a desired educational destination for international eye professionals. It also plans to establish the country’s first Ophthalmic Research Institute.
