New cancer trial platform launched in Victoria, Australia
The first clinical trial has started at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and BioNTech have partnered to establish a clinical trial platform to improve access to investigational cancer treatments across Victoria, Australia.
The platform has started its first clinical trial for an investigational breast cancer treatment at the cancer centre, assessing the safety and efficacy of a combined immunotherapy and chemotherapy treatment for triple-negative breast cancer.
The initiative will help streamline trial processes through improved data collection, trial planning, and patient access, according to the Australian government.
Moreover, it brings together key healthcare providers, including Austin Health, Alfred Health, and Monash Health.
