Ping An Good Doctor launches one-stop clinics at expressway rest stop

Each clinic is stocked with over 100 types of common drugs.

Chinese online healthcare platform Ping An Good Doctor has launched a one-minute clinic at the bustling Nanjing Siqiao Expressway Service Area to provide healthcare services to drivers and passengers, an announcement revealed.

The clinic will incorporate the company’s “AI Doctor” technology, giving users access to the company’s over 1000-strong in-house medical team and nearly 5000 external contracted doctors.

Each one-minute clinic will be stocked with more than 100 types of common drugs, all of which are cryogenically refrigerated to ensure quality. Drugs which are not stored at the booth can be purchased online through our the Ping An Doctor App, the firm added.

"The ‘One-minute Clinics’ prescribe common drugs for specific needs of drivers and passengers, such as anti-motion sickness drugs, fever cooling pads, essential oil, anti-diarrheal drugs and so on. In response to the significant increase in traffic volume during the Chinese New Year, the ‘One-minute Clinics’ will increase the number of drugs each one stores to meet the medical and healthcare needs of users," a company spokesperson said.

More than 10,000 vehicles pass through the Nanjing Siqiao Expressway Service Area on weekends and during holidays. The Nanjing Highway Bureau regarded the “One-minute Clinic” as an innovative attempt to integrate technology and smart service areas, and it plans to set up similar clinics at all of its 26 service areas and 52 stations.

The clinics are located in eight provinces and cities across China.
