World Bank approves $495.6m health project for the Philippines

Seventeen provinces with limited healthcare access will be prioritised.

The World Bank has approved the $495.6m ‘Philippines Health System Resilience Project.’

Seventeen provinces with limited healthcare access will be prioritised, covering 17.9 million people. Meanwhile, eleven of these provinces are in Mindanao.

The project will support efforts to strengthen climate-resilient healthcare networks, enhance workforce capacity, and improve governance in the health sector.

The initiative will also invest in disease surveillance, public health laboratories, and emergency response systems.
