Sleep apnea diagnostic systems market to reach $1.3b by 2033

The sector is driven by AI integration and a focus on home monitoring.

The sleep apnea diagnostic systems market sales are projected to reach $1.3b by 2033 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.8%, GlobalData revealed.

The sector is influenced by key trends such as artificial intelligence (AI) and a focus on home monitoring.

One development that could impact the market is the integration of sleep apnea technology into smartwatches.

Tina Deng, Principal Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, stated that whilst these devices can track sleep patterns and vital signs, they cannot replace studies that include polysomnography or home sleep apnea tests.

However, the analyst noted that smartwatches can assist clinicians monitor obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) over extended periods, providing a less cumbersome alternative to multiple cables and sensors.

“The majority of individuals with sleep apnea remain undiagnosed, indicating a need for increased awareness and accessibility to diagnostic tools,” Deng said.
