SingHealth opens off-site MRI centre at Dunearn Village

SingHealth has opened a new off-site magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) centre at Dunearn Village, with three machines boosting annual capacity by up to 18,000 slots.
The new MRI machines, operated in partnership with United Imaging Healthcare, are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) functions that can reduce scan time by up to 25% for certain procedures.
Two of the units feature a bore of 75 centimetres (cm) in diametre, 5 cm larger than standard MRI bores on the market.
Each machine includes a ‘starlight’ interior lining designed to create a greater sense of space and increase patient comfort, particularly for those with claustrophobia.
The MRI rooms also have dynamic wall and ceiling systems that project nature-themed visuals and integrate with audio systems for music or other entertainment during scans.
The SingHealth MRI Centre has been operational since 2 January this year.
