NTU LKC Medicine’s new network embeds patient insights into med research
The network currently includes 40 patient partners from different backgrounds.
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore has established OPEN Voices, a network of patients and caregivers to collaborate with researchers and educators on medical research and education programmes.
Co-developed by LKCMedicine’s OPEN and two patient partners, the network will incorporate patient perspectives into areas such as setting research priorities, designing studies, and conducting clinical trials.
It will also support patient and public involvement initiatives across the school by advising and co-designing research and education projects, along with co-developing patient-friendly research materials.
The network currently includes 40 patient partners from different backgrounds, living with conditions such as cancer, diabetes, eczema, and dementia, along with caregivers and healthy individuals.
