NHCS and Lien Foundation launch new programme for heart failure care

The initiative is set to integrate palliative care into the cardiology speciality.

The National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) and the Lien Foundation have launched the Heartlanders programme for heart failure patients.

The programme integrates palliative care into cardiology, allowing cardiologists and healthcare professionals to provide general palliative care.

As part of the initiative, NHCS and the Lien Centre for Palliative Care at Duke-NUS Medical School have developed a cardio-palliative care course for NHCS staff and community healthcare providers.

Palliative care education will also be integrated into all cardiology residents’ training.
