Nambour General Hospital unveils redeveloped emergency department

It now features a dedicated treatment zone for children and a new triage area.

Australia’s Nambour General Hospital has opened its redeveloped emergency department (ED), increasing its bed capacity to 44.

The upgrade includes acute, short-stay, and fast-track beds, along with three resuscitation bays.

It also features a dedicated treatment zone for children and a new triage area that includes private assessment rooms.

In a statement, the ED is the final major section of the redevelopment to open, following the completion of other areas, such as the new medical imaging department, same-day rehabilitation unit, and mental health wards.
