Malaysia’s SMCV launches campaign addressing concerns on advanced surgeries

The campaign is set to conduct a tour video series featuring the da Vinci Xi and the MAKO surgical systems.

Malaysia’s Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) has launched a campaign to address public concern regarding advanced surgical procedures.

The “Sooner Than Expected” campaign will conduct a tour video series featuring the da Vinci Xi and the MAKO surgical systems to better understand how minimally invasive surgeries are conducted.

The series will also feature tours of the hospital’s other facilities and services, including the operation theatre and the rehabilitation centre.

“It is important to recognise that medical procedures today have undergone significant advancements, with the aim to provide patients with the most effective treatment at the lowest possible risk,” Dr Khoo Eng Lea, Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Pain Medicine Specialist at SMCV, said.

Moreover, SMCV will host an exhibition from 12 June to 13 July for visitors to witness through virtual reality (VR) simulations how these technologies, including robotic, open incision and keyhole surgeries are conducted.
