Major infrastructure upgrades underway at Broken Hill Health Service
These include an upgraded ED and additional key health worker accommodations.
The Australian government in New South Wales has announced that major infrastructure upgrades are underway for the Broken Hill Health Service, including an upgraded emergency department (ED) and additional key health worker accommodations.
The $7.8m (A$12m) ED upgrade includes a full internal refurbishment and reconfiguration, expanding its efficiency and capacity.
Meanwhile, the hospital campus will receive 20 new modern staff accommodation units. The two-storey complex will feature 10 self-contained, fully furnished units on each floor.
The new accommodation units are designed to support the Far West Local Health District in recruiting and retaining healthcare workers, with staff expected to move in early next year upon completion.
