Australia unveils new rules to support incoming Aged Care Act
The rules cover issues from residential care to home support packages.
The Australian government has released the final draft of the new Aged Care Rules, which are set to take effect alongside the new Aged Care Act on 1 November.
The rules cover issues from residential care to home support packages, worker screening, vaccinations and financial obligations.
Moreover, they provide further detail and instruction on how the new Act will work.
The release follows the introduction of amending legislation to Parliament last week for a smooth transition to the new Aged Care Act.
The rules were developed after seven consultation drafts and in response to more than 400 submissions from aged care providers, advocates, workers, carers, healthcare experts, and older people themselves.
