Wollongong Hospital to add MRI and CT Scanners under $14.3m upgrade
Medical imaging works are expected to be completed in late 2025.
Wollongong Hospital will install new MRI and CT scanners as part of a $14.3m (A$21.9m) investment by the Australian government in New South Wales.
The new scanners will be in addition to the one existing MRI and two existing CT machines currently at the facility.
Taylor Construction Group has been appointed to oversee the project, which includes relocating the Medical Assessment Centre and positioning the new scanners near the emergency department to improve access and patient flow.
Main works construction is set to begin in early 2025, with imaging upgrades expected later that year.
The funding also covers planning for the hospital’s future expansion, with further updates to follow.
