KFSHRC, Germfree to launch modular ATMP manufacturing campus
The facility will be located at the hospital’s main campus in Riyadh.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) and Germfree Laboratories, LLC have partnered to establish a fully integrated, modular ‘Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product’ manufacturing campus in Saudi Arabia.
The facility will be located at KFSHRC’s main campus in Riyadh.
The project will initially deploy Germfree’s BioGO® Box, a single-module cleanroom, to support early-stage training, technology transfer, and research and development efforts.
Concurrently, a centralised facility will be built on the KFSHRC campus to house prefabricated modular cleanroom clusters.
This facility will include 16 production suites designed for multi-modal cell and gene therapy manufacturing at both clinical and commercial scales.
A letter of intent has been signed to launch the turnkey project, which aims to accelerate the country’s capacity to manufacture cell and gene therapies domestically, facilitate international clinical trials, and attract pharmaceutical partnerships.
