India’s deep brain stimulator market to witness 10% CAGR growth until 2033
The rechargeable DBS sector accounts for approximately 8% of the APAC market in 2024.
India’s deep brain stimulator (DBS) market is projected to rise at a compound annual growth rate of over 10% until 2033 on the back of a significant treatment gap in movement disorders, said GlobalData.
The country’s rechargeable DBS sector accounts for approximately 8% of the Asia Pacific market in 2024.
This growth is attributed to an increasing patient base, cost advantages, the availability of skilled neurosurgeons, and expanding healthcare infrastructure.
“As global life expectancy rises, age-related neurodegenerative disorders are becoming more prevalent,” Divya Soni, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData, said.
However, DBS systems present notable limitations such limited battery life of three to five years. This requires periodic surgical replacement for non-rechargeable models, increasing patient burden and surgical risks.
“The introduction of advanced DBS technologies offers a transformative solution in providing personalised, data-driven therapy, setting new standards in precision care, and improving quality of life across the country,” Soni added.
