India commits $85m to WHO’s Global Traditional Medicine Centre
The funding will help the centre enhance the evidence base for traditional medicine.
India has pledged $85m over ten years to support the programming of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO’s) Global Traditional Medicine Centre.
The funding will back the centre’s efforts to strengthen the evidence base for traditional medicine by providing data on policies, practices, products, and public use.
Moreover, the donor agreement is part of the nation’s $250m investment in supporting the facility’s establishment in 2022.
Meanwhile, some of the funding will be allocated to WHO’s investment round for core work from 2025 to 2028.
