Hong Kong launches dual-track development pathway for medical talent

Participating doctors will hold positions at the HA and a designated university.

The Health Bureau, in partnership with the Hospital Authority (HA), the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), has introduced a dual-track development pathway for doctors engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Participating doctors will hold positions at the HA and a designated university under the new pathway.

The HA and the two medical schools have begun recruitment, with five doctors selected to participate to date.

Amongst them, four doctors from the Hong Kong Children's Hospital were appointed by the medical school of HKU.

Meanwhile, another doctor from the Department of Intensive Care of the New Territories East Cluster was appointed by the medical school of CUHK.

Various doctors from the New Territories East Cluster are expected to join the medical school of CUHK through the dual-track pathway within the year.
