Fortis Hospital Gurugram adopts gamma tech for brain tumour treatment
The system offers a non-invasive approach for shorter treatment and faster recovery time.
Fortis Hospital in Gurugram, India has adopted the Gamma Knife Esprit technology for non-invasive brain tumour treatment.
The new technology is set to treat tumours such as acoustic neuroma, brain metastases, craniopharyngiomas, meningiomas, and pituitary adenomas, as well as other neurological disorders including arteriovenous malformations (AVM).
According to Fortis, the new system utilises highly focused gamma-ray beams that converge at a specific point within the brain without damaging the healthy tissue surrounding it.
Moreover, the technology offers more precise procedures for shorter treatment durations, faster recovery times, and minimised side effects.
