Chronic disease burden fuels demand for medical consumables across GCC
The general surgery and laparoscopic surgery segment held a dominant share in 2026.
The rising prevalence of chronic diseases and the growing adoption of minimally invasive surgical procedures is significantly boosting the demand for medical consumables in the Gulf Cooperation Corporation (GCC) region, MarkNtel Advisors said.
The GCC medical consumables market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 4.73% during 2026 to 2032, reaching US$635m, according to MarkNtel Advisors' recent study.
It also linked this growth to the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, the increasing number of surgical procedures, and the growing emphasis on infection prevention.
By clinical specialties, the general surgery and laparoscopic surgery segment held a dominant share of approximately 39% in 2026.
Despite steady growth, the GCC medical consumables market faces certain challenges, including the cost associated with high-quality medical consumables.
