Australian gov’t invests $7.9m in prevention research

The funding will establish new research streams.

The Australian government has awarded $7.9m (A$12m) under Round 7 of the Prevention Research Support Program to three research groups across New South Wales.

The funding will establish new research streams focused on obesity, diabetes and physical activity, infectious disease capability, preparedness and response, and maternity and the first 2000 days.

​This investment aims to strengthen research capacity and translate findings into policy and practice.
