Australia invests $6.3m in research on high-use health service patients

Four projects will examine healthcare delivery and develop improved models.

The Australian Government is investing $6.3m (A$9.6m) in funding to support research focused on Australians who rely heavily on health services.

Four projects have been funded to examine healthcare delivery, explore improvements, and develop new models for implementation.

“This research will help us gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing people with different types of high healthcare service utilisation when managing their health,” said National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) CEO, Steve Wesselingh

The investment is being administered through the NHMRC Targeted Call for Research: Addressing the Needs of People with High Healthcare Service Utilisation.
