Australia invests $322m in First Nations’ healthcare

The investment will expand the availability of Medicare services.

The Australian government is investing more than $322m (A$500m) over five years in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

The investment will expand the availability of Medicare services in the country, including rural and regional areas.

It also includes measures aimed at improving access to culturally appropriate healthcare for First Nations people.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure grants focus on building and upgrading clinics in areas of highest need to strengthen First Nations' health capacity.
