Australia to develop $867m Bankstown Hospital in Southwest Sydney
The upcoming facility will integrate with the existing Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.
Australia is set to establish the Bankstown Hospital worth approximately $867m (A$1.3b) for the Southwest Sydney community.
According to the government, the new hospital will integrate with the existing Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital site to deliver healthcare across a broad range of community and hospital-based services.
“The new hospital will transform healthcare for the Bankstown and surrounding communities and is the first major investment in the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital since the hospitals merged in 1997,” Health Minister, Ryan Park, said.
The hospital’s scope is expected to include intensive care, surgery and interventional procedures, aged health, and women’s and children’s health amongst others.
Moreover, the upcoming facility will offer services for emergency and ambulatory care.
