Ageing population to ramp up APAC's arrhythmia monitoring market

Heart disease cases in India are projected to hit 19.1 million by 2050.

As the geriatric population who are more prone to heart diseases is expected to expand in the coming years, Asia-Pacific’s cardiac arrhythmia monitoring devices market is expected to register a compound annual growth rate of 4.5% from 2021 to 2026, Market Insights Reports revealed.

Japan is considered to have the world’s fastest ageing population. The World Ageing 2019 report estimated that the number of the population who are above 65 years old in Japan was 35.52 million (28%) in 2019, which is projected to reach 37.27 million (30.9%) in 2030.

The market is consolidated competitive with few major players. Market players with more funds for research and better distribution systems have established their position in the market, but the region is seeing an emergence of some small players due to greater awareness.

Holter monitoring devices are expected to dominate the market. The United Nations Population Fund 2017 report estimated that in India the number of heart disease cases in senior citizens is projected to be about 19.1 million by 2050.
