KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital, a leading healthcare institution in Malaysia earned its Marketing Initiative of the Year title at the 2022 Healthcare Asia Awards. The hospital was recognised for its successful partnership with Monash IVF Group Ltd. in their campaign to promote fertility services in the southern region of Malaysia.

Both parties took the initiative to inform the public of the available government support for couples who wish to receive professional medical consultation and treatment for fertility. The strong marketing campaign helped spread awareness of various government programs through different mass media channels and social media.

“In the Financial Year 2020 Budget, the Malaysian Government has allocated fertility incentives for Malaysian citizens, including Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawal for fertility treatments such as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF). In addition, they can file for income tax relief of up to RM6,000 when they incur fertility treatment expenses,” the company spokesperson said.

The partner institutions also informed the public of several treatment packages available, including Fertility Health Screening, Egg Freezing and Maternity Package. Aside from these, the company also revealed, their customers can also opt to pay for their treatment through an instalment plan provided by their appointed bank with 0% interest. These benefits are given aside from the EPF withdrawal and income tax relief offered.

According to KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital, their partnership with Monash IVF Group Ltd. allowed them to expand their services after the acquisition of existing assets and clinics took place in September 2020. The healthcare giant further explained that this move also allowed them to work with a team of medical professionals, fertility doctors, advisors and specialists who are dedicated to understanding their customers’ needs, honouring their choices and culture, and giving them the best chance of fertility success.

“As Monash IVF KPJ Johor is one of KPJ Johor centres of excellence, this centre offers a range of comprehensive fertility services and treatments at affordable prices, such as semen analysis, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), as well as genetic testing, PGT-A (preimplantation genetic test for aneuploidy), and NIPT (noninvasive prenatal testing),” the company spokesperson explained.

KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital is proud of their successful partnership with Monash IVF as it resulted to their patients benefiting from innovation, pioneering science and research and access to the specialist hospital’s expansive network of local and international pool of clinical experts.

It allowed them to expand their services across gynecological, laboratory, urological, psychological and nutritional services. The hospital further mentioned that the collaboration has shown some significant impact on the number of cases that they have conducted, their success rate, and their revenue in 2021 as compared to 2020.

“The number of patients receiving treatment in our IVF centre has increased to 56% in 2021, and our revenue from IVF activities has increased to 39.74%, from US$146,548.21 to US$204,788.65. Due to the support of the dedicated team and technology, a success rate as high as 66.7% per blastocyst FET can be achieved.
