Dr Melvyn Chin is the Associate Director (PSM) for ECRI Asia Pacific and is responsible for creating products, solutions and research initiatives related to patient safety and healthcare as well as supporting business development and project management in the APAC region. Prior to joining ECRI, Dr Melvyn was the National Technical Advisor for Occupational Safety and Health for all public hospitals and medical institutions in Malaysia, a committee board member for the Medical Research Ethics Committee MOH Malaysia, the Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Unit and the Deputy Head of Clinical Research Centre for a tertiary hospital in Malaysia.
Dr Melvyn is an experienced occupational health clinician and health research bioethicist with a demonstrated history of working in the medical practice industry and healthcare management.
Dr Melvyn graduated with an MBBS medical degree from Melaka Manipal Medical College. He received his Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in 2015 and obtained Leadership in Medicine certification from Harvard Medical School in 2021. Dr. Aung Myint Oo @ Ye Jian Guo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and a Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
He is also a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and an adjunct senior lecturer / clinical module lead (gastrointestinal system) with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Dr. Aung completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. He was awarded Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo his fellowship training in advance minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. He is a member of international societies for endo-laparoscopic surgeons and bariatric surgeons. He is currently the executive board member, and was the immediate past scientific chairman of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS), Chairman of Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore, as well as member of the Communication Committee of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). He also sits on the executive committee of SingSPEN (Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Singapore) and is also a member of the Singapore Cancer Society Gastric Cancer Awareness Month Committee. He is actively involved in the Digital Transformation Project of ELSA (Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia) and is also the Co-Chair of ELSA's Communication & Informatics Committee.
Dr. Aung is active in both clinical research and teaching. He was awarded the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship in 2013 to pursue Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) at National University of Singapore and he was conferred MCI in 2016. He is also a Co-Investigator of international gastric cancer research trials. Not only has he published his research works in peer reviewed medical journals, he is also a reviewer of peer-reviewed medical journals. He is currently an instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses, as well as a core faculty/ faculty of the Surgical Residency programmes in Singapore. Clinical Associate Professor Tan Hiang Khoon is a dynamic clinician leader who is currently serving as the CEO Singapore General Hospital. His career trajectory includes several key leadership roles within SingHealth. From 2021 to 2024, he served concurrently as Group Director of the International Collaboration Office (ICO) at SingHealth and Director of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI). Additionally, he took on the role of Deputy CEO (Future Health System), SGH from 2022 to 2024. Prior to these appointments, Dr Tan was the Chair of Surgery from 2015 to 2022.
With a distinguished career in head and neck surgery and surgical oncology, Dr Tan has made significant strides in healthcare leadership. He spearheaded the creation of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Head and Neck Disease Centre in 2013. As Chair of surgery, he led the integration of the Division of Surgery at Singapore General Hospital with the Division of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore to optimise care of surgical patients. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he established a 3,700-bed Community Care Facility, ensuring hospital capacities were maintained.
Dr Tan is dedicated to global health equity; he founded the Global Surgery Programme and initiated the Asian Surgical Leaders Network, which addresses the pandemic's impact on surgical health systems in Asia and develops strategies for health system resilience. His commitment to cost-conscious innovation led to a partnership with Duke University, resulting in a low-cost portable flexible nasopharyngoscope, enhancing diagnostic access in lower-resourced settings.
Dr Tan holds a medical degree from the National University of Singapore, a Ph.D. from the University of Bristol, and advanced training in head and neck surgical oncology from the Institute Gustave Roussy in Paris. He also earned an Executive Master in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.

Beaver R. Tamesis, MD has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Asian Hospital and Medical Center since November 1, 2022. Asian Hospital is part of Metro Pacific Health, the largest ne work of private hospitals in the Philippines.
A cardiologist by profession, Dr. Tamesis has been board-certified by the Philippine Heart Association since 1991. He is internationally published in cardiology and structured treatment protocols for diabetes, and continues to actively practice at The Medical City, where he previously served as Training Officer for Internal Medicine and later founded the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program. He is a Fellow in good standing of both the Philippine College of Physicians and the Philippine College of Cardiology.
Before joining Asian Hospital, Dr. Tamesis served as Managing Director and President of Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD) I.A. LLC, a leading multinational pharmaceutical company. Over his 27-year career with MSD, he held key roles including Medical Director, Business Unit Director for Bone and Joint and Cardio-Metabolic, and Regional Marketing Director for the launch of the diabetes drug JANUVIA. He led MSD Philippines from 2013 until his retirement in March 2022.
While at MSD, he also served as President of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) from 2016 to 2021, following two years as Trustee. In this role, he championed et ical business practices, worked closely with the Department of Health and the media to combat medical disinformation—particularly around vaccines and COVID-19—and helped shape a rational approach to medicine pricing in the country.
Under his leadership, Asian Hospital and Medical Center has achieved sustained excellence and recognition both locally and internationally. The hospital was reaccredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to world-class quality and patient safety. It has also been a three-time Gold Award winner at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) Awards for Clinical Effectiveness and Financial Improvement (2023–2025). In 2024, Dr. Tamesis received the HMA Excellence Award as Hospital CEO of the Year, recognizing his transformative leadership and organizational innovation.

Dr. Aung Myint Oo @ Ye Jian Guo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and a Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
He is also a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and an adjunct senior lecturer / clinical module lead (gastrointestinal system) with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Dr. Aung completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. He was awarded Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo his fellowship training in advance minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. He is a member of international societies for endo-laparoscopic surgeons and bariatric surgeons. He is currently the executive board member, and was the immediate past scientific chairman of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS), Chairman of Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore, as well as member of the Communication Committee of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). Dr. Aung is active in both clinical research and teaching. Clinical Associate Professor Tan Hiang Khoon is a dynamic clinician leader who is currently serving as the CEO Singapore General Hospital. His career trajectory includes several key leadership roles within SingHealth. From 2021 to 2024, he served concurrently as Group Director of the International Collaboration Office (ICO) at SingHealth and Director of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI). Additionally, he took on the role of Deputy CEO (Future Health System), SGH from 2022 to 2024. Prior to these appointments, Dr Tan was the Chair of Surgery from 2015 to 2022.
With a distinguished career in head and neck surgery and surgical oncology, Dr Tan has made significant strides in healthcare leadership. He spearheaded the creation of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Head and Neck Disease Centre in 2013. As Chair of surgery, he led the integration of the Division of Surgery at Singapore General Hospital with the Division of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore to optimise care of surgical patients. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he established a 3,700-bed Community Care Facility, ensuring hospital capacities were maintained.
Dr Tan is dedicated to global health equity; he founded the Global Surgery Programme and initiated the Asian Surgical Leaders Network, which addresses the pandemic's impact on surgical health systems in Asia and develops strategies for health system resilience. His commitment to cost-conscious innovation led to a partnership with Duke University, resulting in a low-cost portable flexible nasopharyngoscope, enhancing diagnostic access in lower-resourced settings.
Dr Tan holds a medical degree from the National University of Singapore, a Ph.D. from the University of Bristol, and advanced training in head and neck surgical oncology from the Institute Gustave Roussy in Paris. He is internationally published in cardiology and structured treatment protocols for diabetes, and continues to actively practice at The Medical City, where he previously served as Training Officer for Internal Medicine and later founded the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program. He is a Fellow in good standing of both the Philippine College of Physicians and the Philippine College of Cardiology.
Before joining Asian Hospital, Dr. Tamesis served as Managing Director and President of Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD) I.A. LLC, a leading multinational pharmaceutical company. Over his 27-year career with MSD, he held key roles including Medical Director, Business Unit Director for Bone and Joint and Cardio-Metabolic, and Regional Marketing Director for the launch of the diabetes drug JANUVIA. He led MSD Philippines from 2013 until his retirement in March 2022.
While at MSD, he also served as President of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) from 2016 to 2021, following two years as Trustee. In this role, he championed et ical business practices, worked closely with the Department of Health and the media to combat medical disinformation—particularly around vaccines and COVID-19—and helped shape a rational approach to medicine pricing in the country.
Under his leadership, Asian Hospital and Medical Center has achieved sustained excellence and recognition both locally and internationally. The hospital was reaccredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to world-class quality and patient safety. It has also been a three-time Gold Award winner at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) Awards for Clinical Effectiveness and Financial Improvement (2023–2025). In 2024, Dr. Tamesis received the HMA Excellence Award as Hospital CEO of the Year, recognizing his transformative leadership and organizational innovation.
Beyond HMA, Asian Hospital has been honored by the Healthcare Asia Awards for excellence in clinical service, patient care, management innovation, and workforce transformation; by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) Angels Awards for acute stroke care; and by the Anvil Awards with multiple Gold and Silver recognitions for outstanding communications and public relations programs. The hospital has also been named among the Philippines’ Best Employers by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
In 2025, Dr. Tamesis was named CEO of the Year at the Philippines Leadership Awards and Philippines Executive of the Year (Healthcare) at the Asian Management Excellence Awards. He was also included in the Asia CEO Awards’ Circle of Excellence as CEO of the Year—a testament to his vision, integrity, and unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare excellence in the Philippines.
