New Vinmec clinic elevates healthcare standards in Phu Quoc

Vinmec Phu Quoc Managing Director, Vinh Le shares Vinmec’s commitment to quality and compassionate healthcare in Vietnam and vision to compete on a global scale.

Phu Quoc Island, known for its stunning landscapes and growing tourism industry, is now home to the newly inaugurated Vinmec Duong Dong Clinic.

Vinmec Phu Quoc Managing Director Vinh Le said this state-of-the-art facility aims to cater to both local residents and tourists with a promise of providing a blend of quality medical services and compassionate care.

“Our vision is to compete to bring value to Vietnamese person, bring world-class service to Vietnamese people and become a strong regional competitor to any health system,” Le said in an interview with Healthcare Asia. “The ultimate goals is to bring the highest value to patients.”

This sense of social responsibility, he said, is what drives Vinmec’s development strategies, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic magnified the need for dependable healthcare.

“We care with compassion, professionalism, and dedication. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we actively participated in efforts to prevent the epidemic whilst ensuring quality care for COVID-positive patients,” he recalled.

Speaking of quality, Le highlighted the modern and well-equipped nature of Vinmec’s new clinic located on the sixth floor of a building with a total area of 1200 square meters to provide care for a wide range of medical conditions, from bariatric surgery and immunisation to internal medicine and neurology.

The comprises 40 fully equipped rooms for a range of clinical activities, including emergency procedures, nursing care, pharmacy services, and various healthcare specialties.

He said the clinic’s establishment is also driven by demographic trends and geographical distribution. “The population on the island is expected to rise significantly due to Phu Quoc's transformation into the first island city in Vietnam.”

Owing to the island’s allure, it is already an established travel destination that requires such a modern healthcare facility as provided by Vinmec to cater to both local needs and medical tourism.

Moreover, Vinmec is cognisant of the rise of chronic diseases and an aging population, so Vietnam’s healthcare sector would certainly face the challenge of providing comprehensive and high-quality medical care.
