InnoVoice Glasses display subtitles for hearing impaired
The wearable device converts live speech into text for real-time communication.
InnoSpire Technology Limited has developed a wearable solution to improve communication for people with hearing impairments. The company’s new product, InnoVoice Glasses, converts spoken words into real-time subtitles displayed directly in the user’s line of sight.
“InnoVoice Glasses can convert speech into text for the hearing impaired people,” said Dr. Kelvin Siu, CEO of InnoSpire Technology Limited. “The hearing impaired people can read on their screen the subtitles displayed on the screen, and they can face the other person.”
The device enables users to maintain face-to-face interaction while reading a live transcription of the conversation. “When the other person is speaking, the subtitles keep displaying,” Dr. Siu explained during the Asia Summit on Global Health in Hong Kong. “The hearing impaired people can understand what the other person is speaking.”
Describing it as a “portable subtitle device,” Dr. Siu said the glasses provide an intuitive, user-friendly interface to help bridge communication gaps in everyday conversations.
