Seoul St. Mary’s opens paediatric emergency centre to cut infection risks

It operates as an independent space to prevent the risk of secondary infection.

Catholic University Seoul St. Mary's Hospital has opened its paediatric Emergency Medical Centre on the 1st floor of the main building on 5 June.

According to the hospital, it operates as an independent space to prevent the risk of secondary infection that may occur in paediatric and adolescent patients.

Medical staff specialising in paediatric emergency care are on duty 24 hours a day, aiming to provide rapid and accurate initial diagnosis and treatment.

According to the 2024 Emergency Medical Statistics Yearbook published by the National Emergency Medical Centre, paediatric and adolescent emergency patients account for approximately 17.0%.
