KPJ hospital expands women’s health service with new non-invasive uterine fibroid treatment

HIFU is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy.

KPJ Healthcare Berhad’s Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 has introduced Supine High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), offering non-invasive treatment for uterine fibroids.

HIFU is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to target fibroid tissue without the need for incisions or removal of the uterus.

Uterine fibroids are a common condition in women that may involve surgery, including myomectomy or hysterectomy, which can require longer recovery periods.

DSH2 said Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Dr Liew Yen Eit and Dr Haliza Kamarudin will perform the procedure.
