MedEthix Inc wins at Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2026 for medical missions

The company delivers healthcare services and medicines to underserved families across Philippine communities.

MedEthix Inc won ESG Program of the Year - Philippines in the Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2026 for its community healthcare initiative, Aruga Medical Missions, which delivers medical services and medicines to underserved families.

This programme is part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen community engagement through its corporate social responsibility initiatives. In 2025, MedEthix Inc aligned its CSR activities with its mission of supporting family health solutions under the internal call Forward with Purpose. This direction led to the launch of Aruga Medical Missions, which focuses on expanding healthcare access for communities with limited medical services.

The initiative sets two main goals: to provide direct healthcare support to underserved communities and to reflect the organisation’s values of ingenuity, excellence, collaboration, compassion, and integrity through responsible community engagement.

Aruga Medical Missions offers services that respond to specific healthcare needs within the communities served. In addition to general consultations, the programme includes OB-GYNE consultations to support women’s health, alongside paediatric and geriatric care. The company sees these services as essential in supporting family wellbeing, which it considers central to stronger communities.

Communities in Cebu, Tarlac, and Batangas were selected following assessments that identified areas with limited access to medical care and affordable medicines. Field teams worked with partner medical societies to gather data and ensure that the missions reached communities with urgent healthcare needs.

To support fair access, patient pre-registration opened ahead of each mission to prioritise indigent families. Walk-in patients from nearby areas were also accommodated to keep the programme inclusive and community-centred.

Across three missions, more than 1,000 patients received consultations, specialised care, and free medicines. These activities also supported awareness of preventive healthcare amongst families in the areas served.

One mission in Tarlac reached a remote Aeta community where medical teams crossed a river and trekked to reach patients. The effort reflects the organisation’s approach to delivering healthcare services even in geographically challenging areas.

Partner medical societies and community leaders welcomed the programme as a practical collaboration between the private sector and local stakeholders in addressing healthcare gaps.
