​​YOMA-OUE Pun Hlaing Hospitals Group recognised at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026

The hospital network expanded integrated healthcare services across 17 facilities whilst setting national benchmarks for patient safety and clinical governance.

YOMA-OUE Pun Hlaing Hospitals Group received an accolade in the Hospital Group of the Year - Myanmar category at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026. The recognition reflects the organisation’s development into an integrated healthcare system that delivers services across primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary levels of care across Myanmar.

Over more than 20 years, the group expanded from a single hospital into a healthcare network operating 17 healthcare units across Yangon, Mandalay, Taunggyi, Aung Pann and Pyar Pone. These facilities provide a range of services from primary consultations and diagnostics to complex procedures such as organ transplantation and open-heart surgery. The structure connects different levels of care within one healthcare system rather than operating as isolated facilities.

Operations are organised across three service verticals. Hospitals deliver secondary and tertiary care services. The Smart Health Community covers medical towers, primary care clinics, and digital health platforms that extend healthcare access outside hospital settings. HEAL Ambulatory services include diagnostics, laboratory services, and home-based care programmes that support treatment and follow-up beyond inpatient facilities.

The organisation also introduced a fully integrated electronic medical records system across its facilities. This platform allows physicians and clinical teams to access patient data across different locations, supporting coordinated referrals and standardised clinical protocols. As a result, patients moving between services within the network receive continuous clinical oversight from primary care to specialist treatment.

Another structural component is the employed specialist model, with more than 100 full-time specialists working within the network. This staffing structure provides consistent specialist availability across facilities and supports continuity in clinical management. The model differs from the market practice in which hospitals frequently rely on visiting or part-time specialists.

Beyond its own operations, the group also contributed to broader healthcare capacity in Myanmar. Its experience in accreditation systems and quality governance supported two other hospitals in achieving Joint Commission International accreditation. These initiatives extended the organisation’s operational knowledge and clinical governance frameworks to other healthcare institutions in the country.
