Princ Hospital Suvarnabhumi recognised for ESG and tertiary care leadership at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026
The hospital integrated sustainability initiatives with clinical development, supporting community access, environmental responsibility, and complex care capabilities.
Princ Hospital Suvarnabhumi received accolades in the ESG Program of the Year - Thailand and Tertiary Hospital of the Year - Thailand categories at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, recognising its environmental, social, and governance initiatives alongside the expansion of specialised medical services. The awards acknowledged the hospital’s programmes focused on inclusive healthcare access, environmental management, and the development of tertiary-level treatment capabilities.
The hospital expanded tertiary care services through collaborations with regional medical institutions. Academic exchanges with the Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute supported specialist knowledge development and expanded treatment procedures for complex cases. Partnerships with Bumrungrad International, the BDMS Group, and the wider Princ Group network facilitated knowledge sharing across multiple medical boards, allowing patients in the eastern suburbs of Bangkok to access sub-specialist care closer to their communities.
Clinical operations also incorporated digital systems that strengthened care coordination and medical documentation. The transition to electronic medical records led to HIMSS Stage 7 accreditation, marking a fully paperless clinical environment except for legally required documentation. Specialised centres within the hospital manage complex neurological and cardiovascular conditions, including arteriovenous malformations and Moyamoya disease, whilst orthopaedic procedures at the PRINCE of Bones centre utilise robotic-assisted technology. A collaboration with Institut Jantung Negara also expanded cardiovascular treatment capabilities.
Environmental and social initiatives form part of the hospital’s ESG programme. Inclusive employment practices integrated persons with disabilities into operational roles with continuous training and professional development. Universal design principles were applied across facilities to improve accessibility for patients, visitors, and staff. These initiatives contributed to the hospital receiving the 2025 Human Rights Model Organization Award at the Outstanding Level from Thailand’s Ministry of Justice.
Environmental initiatives addressed resource consumption and waste management. Water-saving technology installed across 75 locations reduced water flow from 4.0 L/min to 1.2 L/min whilst conserving approximately 1,890 cubic metres of water annually and reducing over 1,000 kgCO2e of emissions. The “Medical PVC to Wealth” programme also processes non-infectious medical waste into recycled materials such as bed sheets and other products through collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and the ASEAN Vinyl Council.
Future initiatives will expand these programmes across the broader Princ Group network. Current projects include scaling water-saving technologies and increasing the collection and recycling of medical-grade PVC materials as part of the hospital’s sustainability strategy.
