Femto Research Group Co.,ltd. wins Service Innovation of the Year - Thailand at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026
The group was recognised for its screening service focused on infectious genetic remnants linked to erectile dysfunction.
Femto Research Group Co.,ltd. received the Service Innovation of the Year - Thailand at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026 for its Genome Infections: Mysterious Risk Factor Observed in Erectile Dysfunction initiative. The award recognised the company’s laboratory-developed diagnostic service that detects infectious genetic remnants in human DNA associated with erectile dysfunction (ED), including cases observed in COVID-19 survivors and individuals with a family history of cancer.
The initiative stemmed from earlier research conducted by Femto Research Group Co.,ltd. on genome infections in infertility. Subsequent laboratory observations and literature reviews identified similar patterns of bacterial, parasitic, helminthic, and viral genomic integrations in patients presenting with ED. Infectious agents observed in these cases included microbiomes also reported in published cancer genome studies, as well as SARS-CoV-2 genetic material in certain individuals.
In 2026, the service formalised these findings into a structured screening process. The procedure uses dried saliva samples collected non-invasively. Nucleic acids are extracted from the samples, amplified using polymerase chain reaction, sequenced through Sanger technology and analysed using established bioinformatics tools such as the BLAST search programme. Clients prepared samples at home, completed the required consent documentation, and submitted specimens to the laboratory by post.
The service is positioned as a complementary diagnostic tool alongside existing ED treatments, which include oral phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors and hormone replacement therapies. Identification of infectious genomic remnants provides additional clinical information that may inform management decisions based on an individual’s health profile. The company also noted that infectious agents detected in ED cases overlap with those reported in certain cancer genomes, supporting further monitoring and follow-up where clinically indicated.
In 2025, Femto Research Group Co.,ltd. reported revenue of approximately THB2m. The company continues to operate from Pathum Thani, Thailand, focusing on laboratory-based genomic diagnostics and molecular analysis services.
